Grade Level Acceleration Testing

If you are interested in your child skipping a grade he or she must take the four credit by exams for acceleration and earn a 90% on each test. Test registration for grade level acceleration is from April 30 to May 2. Please contact the school counselor at 594-4426 to obtain the forms. Testing will be May 21-24.

2013-2014 Pre-Registration on Thursday, May 2

If you are the parent of an incoming kindergarten student or a student who will be new to Northwest next fall, we invite you to pre-register your child on Thursday, May 2 from 9 AM - 6 PM at Northwest Elementary School. Here is what you need to bring with you: valid driver's license, birth certificate, shot records, child's Social Security Card and proof of residency (current utility bill/lease/mortgage statement).

Field Day - Friday, May 3

Field Day – Friday, May 3rdWe are aware that a cold front is expected to move in on Thursday night. However, we believe that the weather will not be too cold (high of 66). So that students can stay warm and still be able to move freely, we are asking them to wear a long sleeve shirt. This will also help prevent lost jackets.Remember that lunches are different on this day. The lunch will be a corndog or cold cheese sandwich with oranges, fresh veggies and a choice of milk.Please remember to send a water bottle with your child’s name on it!We still need volunteers!! If you can help, please let us know. You will need to complete an online background check.Field Day for grades K-2 will be in the morning from 8:30 - 11:00 AM. Grades 3 & 5 will participate from 12:00 - 2:30 PM. 4th grade will be on a field trip. Parents are invited to attend to watch or help out. Please make sure to get a visitor's badge in the front office before coming to the field. If you are interested in assisting with an event, please contact Coach Thielke at gregory.thielke@pfisd.net.
