Tissues, Hand Sanitizer, and Disinfectant Wipes

The office is currently receiving donations of tissues, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes. These items help keep our school as germ-free as possible. Please drop off your donation to the school office.

Riojas loves our volunteers!

We currently need volunteers in:*Lunchroom (10:45 am to 1:00 pm any day)*Classroom (An hour or two anytime during school)*Office (8am to 11:30am OR 11:30am to 2:30pm any day) *Reading to Kids (An hour or two anytime during school) Want to help? Changes in Going Home

If you have a change in how your child is going home, please make sure to call the office before 2:00 p.m. In order for our dismissal to run smoothly and for the safety of the children, we need this information in a timely manner. Thanks for your cooperation in helping to ensure that every child gets to the right place after school.

Fever and Illness

PISD policy requires anyone with a fever of 100.5 or higher to remain at home until 24 hours after the fever has broken without medication. Also, any child who vomits must remain at home for 24 hours after the last time the child vomited. If you have any questions about this policy, please call Nurse Watson at 594-4135. Thank you for helping us keep Riojas healthy!

Closed Campus

Once our school reaches a certain enrollment number we no longer have the capacity to accommodate new students. We are currently a closed campus. The district has informed us that we will be a closed campus for the 2013-2014 year.

Helping Hands Posters

You might have noticed our “Lend Your Teacher a Helping Hand” posters in the front hallway. They have small cut-outs with things that teachers or grade levels need such as tissue paper, Clorox wipes or baby wipes for messy projects, extra glue, etc. If you are able to provide any of these items, simply take the hand off of the poster and return it to school with the item listed. The teachers would be most appreciative.
