Hendrickson HS celebrates 10 years of education

HHS Nearly 500 people gathered at Hendrickson High School to help celebrate the campus’s 10th anniversary. The Hawk pride was evident as current students, former students, parents, Pflugerville ISD staff and community members took a walk down memory lane.

PISD Board of Trustees Vice President Vernagene Mott addressed the crowd, and specifically the former and current students who she said are writing the next chapter of Hendrickson High School.

“You are making history at Hendrickson today; you set the future traditions for the campus,” Mott said. “When I look at what our students have been able to achieve these past 10 years I’m amazed because I still remember the dedication ceremony 10 years ago. Our students have taken the name of Pflugerville and Hendrickson High School around the state and even the nation and we thank you for being such good ambassadors for our community and school district. I look forward to another amazing decade.”

All four of the school’s current and former principals were on hand to share memories of the campus’s journey from a single-grade high school campus to the high school with the largest student population in Pflugerville ISD.

Dr. Lori Einfalt, PISD Chief Schools Officer, opened Hendrickson in 2003 before moving to Administration. Dr. Nelson Coulter next led the school and is now the Superintendent for Guthrie CSD, followed by Freddie McFarland who is now the PISD Interim Superintendent of Schools. Devin Padavil currently serves as the principal of Hendrickson High School.
