Is there a cost for Region Choir auditions?

The entry fee for Region Choir auditions will be provided by KLMS, but students who remove themselves from the contest after the cut    off deadline will need to refund the school the entry fee of $7.

Students who make it into the region choir will attend rehearsals at Georgetown H.S. on Saturday, November 5, 2017 (no additional      cost) and perform in a concert at 4:30 p.m. (free and open to the public).

    Can parents attend the auditions?

Parent volunteers are needed to help chaperone this event. If you are interested in helping, please contact the choir director.

How should students dress for the audition?

Since students are not seen by the judges during the audition process, students are welcome to dress comfortably for the day.  School    appropriate clothing is the general rule.

    What can students bring?

Students NEED to bring their region choir audition music and a pencil. Beyond that, students are welcome to bring a book to read,    homework to complete, playing cards, etc.

Students are NOT allowed to have ANY electronic devices or musical instruments (NO cell phones, iPads/iPods, MP3 players, laptops,    video game devices, electronic reading devices, etc.) while auditions are going on.

Any cell phones or electronic devices brought to the contest must be turned OFF and handed over to a chaperone until the phone/device     is returned after auditions are over.

     Can students bring food/drinks?

Students are welcome to bring their own food and drink, and students will be expected to clean up after themselves. Concessions will
        be offered for purchase.

     What happens after auditions?

All students will need a ride home from the audition site. After auditions if a student needs to call home, he/she will be able to retrieve    his/her cell phone from a chaperone to make a “supervised” phone call. Then, the cell phone will be returned to the chaperone until the    parent comes inside and signs out his/her student, at which time the cell phone will be returned to the student. All other cell phones will    be returned to students after auditions are over per TMEA rules.

What can my child do to prepare?

Students have access to the sheet music and practice recordings to work on their own. Students will rehearse during class time. Students    may also work with the choir director individually by making an appointment.
