Pre-Kindergarten Registration Information

Pre-Kindergarten is an early learning program to prepare children identified as at-risk. Half-day Pre-Kindergarten is available to children in Pflugerville ISD attendance zones and will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2013.

Eligibility Requirements
Must meet one or more of the following:
  • Economically Disadvantaged – Students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Families must meet the federal income eligibility guidelines. Income information on all household members must be provided at the time of registration.
  • Learn more about free and reduced lunch requirements.
  • Limited English Proficiency – Students qualifying will be tested on the day of registration to determine placement. The child must be present at the time of registration.
  • Parent Active Duty Military – The child of a parent that is an active duty member of the armed forces of the US; or the child of a member of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving in active duty. Department of Defense identification and a Statement of Service from the Adjutant General/Director of Human Resources or an official letter from a commander that he/she is active/mobilized must be provided at the time of registration.
  • Homeless – Students qualifying as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
  • Foster Care – A child in or has been in conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing under Family Code 262.201. Appropriate documentation from the Department of Family and Protective Services must be provided at the time of registration.

Enrollment Information
  • Two proofs of residency for Pre-K only: a current lease or mortgage statement or current utility bill; (Please note: The only bills accepted are gas, water or electric service. For new Pflugerville residents, a utility work order will be accepted. Proof of residency must be dated within 30 days of enrollment. If proof of residence is not in parent’s name, you must have a notarized Student Residency Form signed by the residence owner.) Temporary Residency Form signed by the residence owner. Owner must produce Proof of Residency as listed above and photo identification;
  • A certified copy of the student’s birth certificate;
  • The student’s social security card;
  • Proof of student’s up-to-date immunization record; and
  • Valid Texas driver’s license, valid Texas Photo Identification Card or other acceptable picture identification reflecting current address.

Additional Information
  • Transportation will not be provided for Pre-K students.
  • Eligible Pre-K students should have independent bathroom skills (be toilet trained).
  • If the home campus of the student does not have Pre-K, the student can attend any other PISD campus for Pre-K only. The student will return to their home campus for Kindergarten. Siblings must attend their home campus. They will not be granted a transfer to attend the Pre-K site.
  • If the home campus does not offer needed bilingual services, the bilingual Pre-K student will attend Pre-K at a bilingual campus.
  • Morning Class Time: 7:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.
  • Afternoon Class Time: 11:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
  • Full Day Class Time: 7:40 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

  • Brookhollow Elementary
    • Classes offered in English (Morning and Afternoon Sessions).
    • For parents seeking childcare services before and after PISD Pre-Kindergarten classes, the Extended Day Program will offer tuition-based childcare for Pre-K students at Brookhollow Elementary. The rates and final program details will be announced via this website as soon as the information is available. Brookhollow Elementary will serve as a licensed childcare facility. Families currently participating in Workforce Solutions for subsidized childcare should contact your case worker to inquire about assistance for before and after school care.   • Copperfield Elementary
    • Classes offered in Spanish (Morning Session).
    • Classes offered in Spanish (Afternoon Session).
  • Highland Park Elementary

  • Northwest Elementary
    • Classes offered in English (Morning and Afternoon Sessions).

  • Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Location: Rock Gym, 700-B West Pecan Street, Pflugerville, TX 78660
 
Please note: Pre-K classes are filled on a first come, first served basis. All items listed under Enrollment Information must be presented at the time of registration. Child, Inc. eligibility will be verified prior to enrollment in the full day program.

PISD/Child, Inc. Full Day Pre-Kindergarten will be offered at the following campuses:
  • Barron Elementary (Spanish Classes Available.)
  • Copperfield Elementary (English Classes Available.)
  • Delco Primary (English and Spanish Classes Available.)
  • Parmer Lane Elementary (Spanish Class Available.)

Pflugerville ISD also offers tuition-based pre-kindergarten to children who are four years old on or before September 1 who do not meet the criteria for placement in pre-kindergarten, but whose parents would like for them to participate.
