The Pflugerville ISD Diversity Steering Committee will host its 6th Annual Diversity Conference, re-named the Pflugerville ISD Conference for Equity and Social Justice in Education in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 8:30-4:00 at Hendrickson High School. No Place for Hate
The No Place for Hate® initiative provides educators and students with the resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school curriculum. No Place for Hate® also helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference while challenging bigotry and prejudice. Launched in schools in 2001, the popular initiative has been embraced by hundreds of campuses throughout the Southwest region, including many in the Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Round Rock areas.
To become a NPFH campus, participants complete the Intent Form, Coalition Form, sign the Primary or Secondary Resolution of Respect Form, complete at least three anti-bias activities and document those activities on an Activity Form. online resources
Our Definition of Diversity:
Pflugerville ISD views diversity within a school system as inclusive of differences in human characteristics that affect a student's capacity to learn or interact in a school environment. These differences can be biological, environmental or social in nature.
