    RECAP:

    ASCEND DEBATE:

Our debate went wonderfully, and the students were AMAZING!  Thank you to the PHS students that assisted and provided feedback to the students.  Awesome job to Ms. Armond for her preparation and instruction to prepare the students.  It was great seeing out students step into their own when they were able to speak passionately about topics that matter.  You could really see how much research they had done to be successful.  Awesome work all!

4th Gr MUSICAL & ALL STUDENT ART SHOW:

The musical and art show were phenomenal!  We have some really talented students (and staff).  Thank you to all that were able to make it out on that cold evening to celebrate the talent of our students.

    3rd Gr MARKET DAY WEDNESDAY-$900 :

The students (and parents J) made some AMAZING crafts for the market day.  The students and staff were VERY excited to purchase these treasures.  We made OVER $900 to be donated to the Pflugerville Animal Shelter.  Thank you for your support of this awesome entrepreneurial learning platform for our students.

4th Gr Field Trip Friday Cancelled :

Due to other districts canceling, the Scottish Rite Theatre cancelled the performance Friday.  They are NOT re-scheduling that performance, and 4th grade is deciding if they will go to another play, or choose a different experience for the students, depending on their options.  Thank you for you flexibility.

WEDNESDAYS AT WES WE ARE COLLEGE & CAREER BOUND:

Please encourage your children to wear their PJs on Monday December 18th, as we will be reading the Polar Express to each class.  The 3rd grade students started this tradition many years ago, and they always have a special visitor from the community read to them.  This year, the Pflugerville Mayor, Mr. Victor Gonzales will be joining us for this tradition @ 10:00 a.m. to read to our 3rdgr students.  We are elated!

Caroling in the Windermere Neighborhood the evening of Wednesday, December 20th:

We would like to start a tradition where the Windermere staff comes to YOU to sing carols.  We have designated 3 stops (Black Locust Park, 1825 apartments, and a location near New Meister and SpringBrook).  We will send out more information as to the exact location and the times our staff will be arriving to hand out candy canes, and sing some holiday favorites like Frosty the Snowman, and Rudolph.  We hope you can bring your family out for a few minutes to have some community building fun!

    RECAP:

    3rd Gr Musical:

WHAT A SHOW!  Our 3rd graders put on a spectacular show all about “BONES!”.  Our next performance is 5th Graders in a Veteran’s day Musical in November.  Kuddos to Ms. Niswander’s for a spectacular first performance at WES!

    Principal Coffee:

Thank you to the parents that were able to make it Friday morning.  It is always great to share, and even better to hear from you!

    BOOK FAIR:

Our Fall Book Fair was a HUGE success. A BIG SHOUT OUT to our AMAZING Librarian, Ms. Daniels, who spent countless hours supporting our students in the difficult selection of books, posters, pens, and more!  We hope your child is happy with having a few more books in their hands!  If they are still wanting more, we will have another Fair in April!

WEDNESDAYS AT WES WE ARE COLLEGE & CAREER BOUND:

Each Wednesday students and staff are encouraged to wear a t-shirt that represents their favorite college, university, or higher education of choice.  Our staff work hard to support all students’ participation by reaching out to local universities and scouring thrift shops for t-shirts.  If you can donate, or find a t-shirt for your student, we can all support this initiative to dream BIG!

    DISMISSAL:

Thank you for honoring our campus safety initiative and bringing your parent pick-up dismissal cards daily.  We are happy to provide you with as many cards as you need.  If you forget your card, you will be asked to present your id in the main office.  If your child’s teacher is present and knows you, they can release your child to you without a card one time as a courtesy, but we request that you bring your card subsequent times.  You can give a set of cards to others that regularly pick up  your children, or use in two different vehicles so you won’t have to remember the cards daily.

ASCEND will be dismissed @ 2:35 daily.

    3rd & 5th grade will be dismissed @ 2:40 daily, and 4th will be released at 2:45.

We will be stationed at dismissal with students until 3:00.  Any student that has not been picked up by 3:00 will be brought inside until parents arrived and sign out the student.
