Monday the BES staff dedicated their time to learning about how best to continue to support the individual needs of our students through Responsive Teaching practices- check out their great collaboration on our BES Facebook!

Our Flu clinic was a huge success – even for the little ones! A seamless day thanks to our wonderful nurse Mrs. Roessler, parent volunteers and staff!

With the support of our wonderful  district -plans for a new playground canopy damaged from hurricane Harvey and playground equipment has been purchased.  Scheduling for assembly will take place upon arrival.

As we near the end of our 1st 9 weeks – our teachers and staff continue to work diligently during their PLCs to ensure every child has the best individualized instruction to meet his/her needs.  From our core instruction to intervention team – each staff gathers data from our Star 360 Universal Screener (school wide), STAAR data ( 4th – 5th) and, etc. for optimum opportunities for student successful.  Moreover, your child’s teacher will be contacting you if not already to schedule a parent conference  during the month of October to discuss his/her plan for growth and success for the 2017-2018 school year.

This week we’re ending our Hispanic Heritage Month recognition! Our students enjoyed reading and learning about facts leading up to why we celebrate this great culture. Students throughout the Fall semester use art to study Hispanic Heritage Month.  Spanish artists Joan Miro and Pablo Picasso as well as Cesar Chavez, who fought for the rights of farm workers.

Thank you to those of you have RSVP'd for the PTO BBQ picnic this Friday.
We will have enough guaranteed food from 6:30-7:15pm for those who RSVP'd . For those who did not RSVP and would like to still attend, we will have some extra hamburgers but there is no guarantee that we will have enough for everyone.

Also, PTO will not be providing tables or chairs outside so feel free to bring your own or a blanket to sit on.

*Just a reminder that Kona Ice will be there selling shaved ice. They accept cash and cards.*

We look forward to this first ever event and spending an evening with you all!
