    Greetings Wolf Pack families!

WHS students have done an outstanding job this week with the Biology EOC, Algebra I EOC, and some AP testing going on.

We appreciate the fact that students took it seriously and we look forward to successful results. Way to go Wolf Pack!

We celebrate our teachers and nurse this week – Teacher appreciation week!

On Tuesday, May 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in recognition of National Law Enforcement Week, WHS will honor all first responders that serve the Pflugerville community.

Police, fire, and EMS have been invited to “drive thru” the front parking lot of WHS to receive a soda/water/coffee, snack, and a handwritten thank you note.  Students will be outside to shake hands and thank our first responders personally.

If you wish to donate a 12-pack of sodas, a case of water bottles, a container of ground coffee, a to-go pack of coffee creamer, granola bars, protein bars, individually wrapped muffins or other store-wrapped individual snacks, you may deliver these items to WHS front office. Thank you for your support!

    Greetings Wolf Pack Families,

It is amazing that we are already into the month of May and into the last grading period.

    Class of 2020 is having a Zaxby’s night on May 8 from 5 to 9 p.m.

This fundraiser is for their prom. Come on out and help support the class of 2020!

Sophomores who were in the district last year and have carried a 3.0 or higher average for three consecutive semesters could be eligible for an academic letter.

Today during Power Hour Mrs. Jackson was available to verify those students who are eligible. If your student did not see Mrs. Jackson today and could be eligible, please encourage them to see her tomorrow.

AVID recruitment has begun! If your student is interested in this wonderful college prep program, they must get an invitation from Coach Schier in room D109. All applications are due on Friday, May 11. Come join the Weiss AVID family!

Weiss High School has a Track State Qualifier – Congratulations to Michaela Francois!

The English department and the theatre department teamed up to learn about Shakespeare – oh what a treat. Great job to all the students!

    Weiss Families,

Just want parents to know that we had a very successful Lockdown drill this morning. All students took this time seriously and did exactly what they were supposed to do.  We had guest officers and safety personnel on our campus to help us evaluate how we are doing. It was positive and we feel we are preparing our students and staff the very best that we can.

    Thanks for your support.

Baseball has been cancelled for the rest of the week and softball will try to play away tomorrow.

  • Safety Update

Posted by Paula Gamble on 2/20/2018 7:00:00 PM

    Greetings Weiss Families,

Just want to keep the communication going with all families.

In light of the serious events going on in our nation, we are doing our best to keep our school aware and safe.

Safety is of utmost importance to us, and we continue to have safety discussions with students and staff.

Some of the things we are doing:

    ·       Having important conversations about safety with all students in all classrooms.

    ·       Class assemblies will take place on Wednesday to (again) go over safety and expectations.

    ·       All students are required to wear an ID at WHS – this is part of our safety plan.

    ·       Increasing the number of practice drills during the month. We are required one per month ~we are conducting more.

    ·       Increasing reminders to use Anonymous Alerts and “See something, say something”

    ·       Having extra faculty meetings for adult awareness and procedures for safety

Please understand that during a drill, we will ask everyone to participate and we will not be answering phones for a brief period as everyone will be practicing.

In the best interest of all student’s safety, we will not have Power Hour for the rest of the week.

This will allow us to have knowledge of the whereabouts of our students and address any concerns that might arise.

    Awareness is so important.

    Thanks for your support!
