    Weiss Families,

Just want parents to know that we had a very successful Lockdown drill this morning. All students took this time seriously and did exactly what they were supposed to do.  We had guest officers and safety personnel on our campus to help us evaluate how we are doing. It was positive and we feel we are preparing our students and staff the very best that we can.

    Thanks for your support.

Baseball has been cancelled for the rest of the week and softball will try to play away tomorrow.

    Greetings Weiss Families,

Just want to keep the communication going with all families.

In light of the serious events going on in our nation, we are doing our best to keep our school aware and safe.

Safety is of utmost importance to us, and we continue to have safety discussions with students and staff.

Some of the things we are doing:

    ·       Having important conversations about safety with all students in all classrooms.

    ·       Class assemblies will take place on Wednesday to (again) go over safety and expectations.

    ·       All students are required to wear an ID at WHS – this is part of our safety plan.

    ·       Increasing the number of practice drills during the month. We are required one per month ~we are conducting more.

    ·       Increasing reminders to use Anonymous Alerts and “See something, say something”

    ·       Having extra faculty meetings for adult awareness and procedures for safety

Please understand that during a drill, we will ask everyone to participate and we will not be answering phones for a brief period as everyone will be practicing.

In the best interest of all student’s safety, we will not have Power Hour for the rest of the week.

This will allow us to have knowledge of the whereabouts of our students and address any concerns that might arise.

    Awareness is so important.

    Thanks for your support!

  • Wolf Pack Attendance

Posted by Marcial Guajardo on 1/30/2018 2:00:00 PM

    Greetings Weiss families,

PfISD and Weiss High School take attendance very seriously. It is so important for students because it affects their credit status. No one should lose credit for a class because of attendance.

As Weiss High School gets larger and many of our students are starting to get their driver’s licenses, we are creating ways that parents can communicate with us easily and safely to accommodate busy work schedule and busy lives.

This link is an email that goes straight to our Attendance Specialist for your convenience. Please use it for attendance purposes only.

    For example:

    • parent/doctor note for an ill student.
    • parent permission to leave campus early for student’s doctor appointment.

When you email, make sure to include:

    • Student’s full name
    • Student’s ID # and grade level
    • your name and a phone number (To keep your child safe, we must be able to verify that you are the parent by checking our database or giving you a call.)

As always, thank you for your support!
