The mission of the Dessau Elementary Library is to foster a love of literature and reading, collaborate with teachers and staff to provide quality learning opportunities for students, and to promote life-long learning for both pleasure and information.

Come on in... you will find a very friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere that is conducive to reading and research! Click here to view a copy of our Pflugerville ISD Library Policy letter.
Scholastic Book Fair
Dessau Elementary will host two Scholastic Book Fairs for 2012-2013. They will be the week of November 12-16 and May 6-10. More information will follow closer to the date of the book fairs. Please click on Volunteer Opportunities if you are interested in volunteering at the book fair.
Dessau Elementary School Library Facts:
- Over 11,000 volumes
We have over 11,000 volumes of fiction, non-fiction, "everybody," Spanish, and reference materials and are constantly adding to our collection. - Destiny automation system
Our automation system assists with circulation, cataloging, research, and reports. It is so easy to use that students can circulate their own materials. Our online library catalog is also accessible from home! - Technology
Students have access to computers not only in the library, but in the adjacent computer lab, which is connected to the library itself. We also have a rolling cart with laptop computers, also called "COWS, or computers on wheels, for classroom use. These may be checked out by teachers through the library. - Video Distribution
We have two channels (16 and 17) that teachers can use for local playout so that more than one class can view a video at the same time. There is also another local channel (14) that is used to broadcast morning announcements and yet another (19) with scrolling announcements that can be programed to run all day.
