Pflugerville ISD hosted its Elementary UIL A+ Academic District Tournament and Elementary UIL Dual Language Enrichment Academic Meet Saturday, Feb. 2 at Pflugerville High School.
The combined team of Windermere Elementary and Windermere Primary captured its second consecutive A+ Academic District Tournament title. Copperfield Elementary and Mott Elementary finished second and third, respectively.
Copperfield, however, followed up on a Dual Language Enrichment meet championship last year by winning it again, giving the team back-to-back titles of its own. River Oaks Elementary and Parmer Lane Elementary finished second and third, respectively.
Twenty-one PfISD elementary campuses participated in the UIL A+ tournament. A total of 494 students participated.
The district’s 11 dual language campuses each took part in the dual language event, with 282 students participating.
Both events support grades 2-5.
UIL tournament events included Chess, Creative Writing, Number Sense, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Social Studies, Spelling and Storytelling.
Dual Language Enrichment meet categories included Creative Writing, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Spelling and Storytelling.
