Eight PfISD students make All-State Band

Jan. 17, 2020

Last weekend eight Pflugerville ISD band students earned their spot among the best in Texas as they were named to Texas Music Educators Association All-State Band.

Hendrickson High School had four students make All-State 6A, with euphonium player Mason Willy leading the way as the top player on his instrument at area auditions. Trumpet players Valerie Hernandez and Owen Larson also made all-state, and Brayden Heath made it for Hendrickson on flute.

Two students from Connally each received top ranking in their instrument at the area auditions to grab their spot in the All-State 5A Band. Sandesh Puri made it on piccolo and Paris Cho on flute.

Pflugerville and Weiss each had one member make TAME All-State 6A Band. Kyndahl Britton for PHS was the top flautist at area auditions to earn her recognition, and trombone player Shon Olegario from WHS also made all-state.

These students will represent PfISD at the TMEA Clinic/Convention in San Antonio Feb. 12-15. The convention will close with performances from a total of 15 all-state bands, choir and orchestras.
