Two new PfISD principals named

Pflugerville ISD Superintendent of Schools Doug Killian has announced the appointment of two new elementary school principals for the 2019-20 academic year. New leadership will be in place at Highland Park Elementary and Timmerman Elementary and both principals bring unique experience to their respective campuses to guide the next chapter at their schools.
 
Lizbeth Ruiz is the new Principal at Highland Park Elementary School and will begin her 10th year serving PfISD students and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in bilingual teaching to Highland Park Elementary.
 
Greg Nestle comes to PfISD from Hutto ISD to lead Timmerman. He has six years of experience as a school administrator and has implemented effective leadership programs at his schools that impacted students and teachers.
 
“I’m very excited to announce Lizbeth and Greg as the principals of Highland Park and Timmerman,” Killian said. “Their unique experience and leadership skills will make an impact on our students as we continue striving to passionately serve our students and provide them with an education that is inspiring, engaging and empowers them to achieve their full potential.”
 
Ruiz has worked as an instructional coach, bilingual interventionist, dyslexia screener, assistant principal and principal in PfISD at three different campuses. Most recently, Ruiz has been the principal at Delco Primary for the last two years. Ruiz also has six years of experience with McAllen ISD as a bilingual education teacher prior to joining PfISD in 2010.
 
Nestle has served as the principal of Howard Norman Elementary for three-and-a-half years when he implemented a Leader In Me program the significantly impacted the campus. He also has utilized data driven models for campus-wide initiatives to support teacher growth and achieving objectives.
 
Nestle has been serving students in Hutto ISD since 2009. Prior to his leadership role at the elementary level, Nestle was an assistant principal at Hutto High School. He also taught in Hutto at Nadine Johnson Elementary and Farley Middle School.
