Highland Park ES students recite the pledges

In April 2018, Highland Park Elementary students led the audience in the U.S. and Texas pledges to start the meeting. These students included Melodi Tyson, Kayla Ryan, Ayleri Garcia Diaz, Aidan Schaffer, Angelo Badua and Ben Edwards.


Hendrickson HS speech and debate qualifiers and champions

In April 2017, PfISD recognized the national and state champion speech and debate qualifiers. This included (from Hendrickson HS) Worth Carlin, Ty Tran, Sofia Valdespino, Jazmin Gonzales, Rene Otero, Jenna Damman, Eliana Galan, Bryce Hann, Sydney Stogel, Trey Gutierrez and Dylan Scott. These students were coached by Kirsten Nash and Aly Mithani.


Vaishnavi Lakshmanan honored as TAFE national qualifier

In April 2018, PfISD recognized Vaishnavi Lakshmanan (Connally HS), who qualified for nationals in the Texas Association of Future Educators Teach Tomorrow Summit last month. Carrie Swisher is the TAFE program sponsor at CHS.


Sara Fusco honored for All-State Theatrical Costumes Design

In April 2018, PfISD recognized the Sara Fusco (Hendrickson HS) for advancing to the State level in Theatrical Costumes Design (Division 2).


Connally HS culinary students honored

In April 2018, several Connally HS students were recognized at the Aramark Regional Chef's competition at Baylor University, winning third prize among 15 participants and securing a $1,000 check. The students' dish was Jalapeno Popper Empanada with Spicy Pineapple Sauce. Honored were Haley Philips, Kaleb Acosta and Calvin Frances, along with Chef Brian Sedatole, CTE director Ryan Merritt. Presenting the check is Aramark representative Geoff Holle.


March and April Employees of the Month recognized

In April 2018, the March and April Employees of the Month were recognized by the Board. This included March Support Staff EOM Jorge Fernandez, custodian at Spring Hill ES; April Professional EOM Mary Perisho, English teacher and cheer coach at Kelly Lane MS; and April Support Staff EOM Charles Gallegos, security associate at Hendrickson HS.
