The goal of NJHS is to build leaders through service projects and volunteering while maintaining a grade point average of 90% or higher for each grading period. Some of the projects are: food drives for local food pantries, fundraising for nonprofit organizations like The American Cancer Society, and local elementary school carnivals, festivals, and fairs, volunteering at Blue Santa, Vet Clinics, Deutschen Festival, clean-up projects and more!
Honor Society members are chosen during their 7th grade year by faculty members based on scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character and academic classes. Students initially nominated have maintained a GPA of 90% or higher, and they then go through an application process. Current 2015-2016 members are inducted in the spring. During their 8th grade year, members will act as leaders on their campus, be involved in services projects that will benefit the school and community, while maintaining a 90% overall grade point average.
